Billie goes to Dodge City, Ks.

Well.  It is that time of year again.  We have taken the grandkids to the DC rodeo finals for the last 6-8yrs.  This is the first year just Billie will go.  I will stay here for a week by myself.  I feel BEANIEWEENIES coming on.  I am taking Billie and Bonnie and her daughters to Burlington Co. on Sun. where we will meet Melanie.  She will take the crowd on to DC.  Then  the next Sun. we will reverse the proceedure.  We have gotten the RV hail damage estimated and into the Ins. co.  Just waiting on them.  Probably in a couple of weeks we will get the call to take it in to get fixed.  Then we will be whole except for the car which goes in for repair of hail damage in the middle of Aug.  We will stay here until 22 Sept. when we will go to Amarillo for a couple of weeks and then go  on down to Victoria Tx. for the winter.  SEEYALATERALLIGATOR !!

One HAIL of a storm !!!!!

Well, Wednesday night it happened.  A humongus hail storm hit Loveland.  Did tremendous damage to the park where we are staying. Hail as big as pingpong  balls and flying at hurricane speeds. Damage to the car and RV.  Vents broken and covers on the ACs broken but aparantly no roof damage.  God took care of us.  I can't see how we would have escaped roof damage otherwise.  Lots of the people here are older and don't carry insurance enough to cover their damages. I can attest that it is getting harder  to live these days on a fixed income when our present government , obama , is doing all it can to bankrupt us.   I  feel for those parents who are trying to raise kids these days.  It is a tremendous challenge for them to keep things paid and raise their kids.  Those who have jobs today, may  not tomorrow.  I just want to know when all the  countries in the world that are receiving our FOREIGN AID  are going to start importing jobs to us!!  I think is our turn to receive FOREIGN AID from them for a while. Let all their citizens pour free money into our country for 50-60 years and see how they like it.  I know this is not PC enough for many of you.  Well tough NOOGIES !!! Just my opinion.

July 10, 2011++++++Billie

We've been here in cooler Colorado for about 3 weeks now.  We have managed to stay really busy doing nothing---OK not exactly nothing, but having a great time.

I wrote that on our way to Colorado I fell and broke a tooth.  The dentist was able to put a temporay filling on and it looks as good as new.  I've not had any problems with it, so hopefully when I see him next week we'll be able to schedule putting a permanet filling or cap on the tooth.

We've gotten to spend a lot of time with the granddaughters here.  We are over at their house a couple of times a week.

We've taken the girls to the movies, played hours of farckle,  black jack, Banana Gram, Chicken Foot, and SkipBo, watched  several movies on TV and we drove up to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park where we had a picnic on the river.  We've even been shopping a couple of times.
The 4th of July we went to a cookout at our pastor's house with others from the church and then walked down the road about 2 miles to enjoy the fireworks display in Loveland.  What a great time this was of great people, great food and wonderful entertainment.

Yesterday we had a sign made to hang on the front of Bertha.  It says, " Home is where we park it" and has a picture of a motorhome.

Bertha's sign

Tomorrow we are takeing the girls and Bonnie to Denver to see the Butterfly Emporium.  Should be a great day.  I'm really looking forward to this as I love Butterflies.

We've met some really great people here in the RV Park.  Woody, a friend we met here last September is also back here.  Lydell spends a lot of time swapping stories with Woody.  He is a really great guy.  We met another couple who are just now starting to live full time in their trailer.  We've had a great time visiting with them and shareing our adventures of RV Living.   We have a lot in common with this couple.  They will be here another month.

Bonnie and the girls and I will be going to Dodge City for the last couple of days of Dodge City Days/rodeo at the end of the month.  Always a good time when we are all togehter for Dodge City Days.  Lydell is going to stay in Loveland with Bertha.

Until next time, ya'll be safe.

Great time being had by all here,Loveland Co.

Hi.   We are finally moved into our permanant spot here at Fireside RV.  We had been in a temp. spot . Someone cxld their reservation and we got to move into their spot.  Very nice park.  About 30-40 trailers, beautiful trees and pretty quiet.  We were staying under some cottonwood trees.  Nice and cool but we got sap on Bertha.  I didn't remember cottonwood trees weeping that bad. The cottonwood seeds are drifting and causing some sinus congestion.  Won't last long though.  We are getting a mobil-wash guy to wash Bertha today. I want to get the sap off before it gets too hard. Pretty reasonable price I must say. The weather has been very nice.  70-80 in the day and 40-50 at night with winds of 6-11 MPH.  Just right for sleeping and sitting out in the evening.  We bought one of those" Of " personal fan thingeys that clips on your belt they are advertising on tv these days to keep the mosquitoes away. It really worked and only cost $ 10. I was really surprised.  I am somewhat skeptical of those things. We have had a great time visiting with Bonnie and her family and visiting their church again. Having a good time visiting with fellow Gypsies that we met here last year who have returned for the summer. Well I must close for now as Billie is fixing brunch.  Will SEEYALATERALLIGATOR !!!

Loveland Co.

Well we are finally set up in Loveland Co.  Man!  It is cold here.  70-80s during the day and 50s at night.  Rain, Rain and more rain. I may have to break out the sweats.  We are getting settled in and will put up the pretties outside today.  We are going to Camping World today and buy me a directors chair for Fathers Day and one for Billie for Mothers Day.  Just can't get out of the folding canvas type anymore without a winch truck !!!!  Besides they have a little folding table made onto the chair to put your food and drinks on.  No more ants crawling all over your food and drinks outside.  Hope they have a RED one in stock. What color do I like??  Red, Red and more Red!!!!!!!!  We have to stock up on groceries also. We let the larder run down while we traveled to save weight. Thus saveing $$$ on the mpg.  Good to be back here where we camped last year. Many old friends are here again.  Well I guess I am all talked out for now.  Have to finish my coffee and get busy.SEEYALATERALLIGATOR !!!!

On the road again. Billie posting

We left Dodge City Wednesday morning right at 9 am cst. We stopped in Goodland, Ks to fill up with gas about 1:30, I went in the store to get a snack, Coming out I was distracted by something in the window, missed the step on the sidewalk and fell flat on my face. Hit my nose, mouth and left knee--- breaking my right front tooth, skinned my nose, and left knee. I don't know how it kept from breaking my glasses, but they are fine. My dignity is brused, however. I called our daughter, Bonnie, in Loveland and she was able to get me in to see her dentist Thursday afternoon. I'm hopeing he'll be able to just cap what's left of the tooth.  We will be around for 3 months if I need more than just one trip to see him.
We stoppped at 3:30 cst in Seibert to spend the night.  Found a leak in the water heater.  The whole 6 gallons had leaked out.  Uck!!!!  Called and got an appoint Friday morning at RV America in Johnstown--just south of Loveland. So we will spend the night at Johnsons Corner RV.
Thursday morning on the road again at 8am mst.  My dentist appoint is at 4 this afternoon.  I sure have a fat lip.  My knee and both wrists are OK not even sore.  The tooth hurts if I bump it.  Do you know how much you use your front teeth to talk and eat--even chewing on the sides.  The dentist had told Bonnie to have me take 600-800mg of ibprofin to help with pain.  I'm sure that's why the wrist and knee don't hurt.
We stopped for gas at Limon.  I stayed IN the motor home.
